What density should I use?

Defaults: Topsoil ~1600 kg/m³, Gravel ~1680 kg/m³, Sand ~1600 kg/m³. Use supplier values if provided.

How do I choose depth?

Topsoil: 4–6 in (10–15 cm) for new beds/lawns. Gravel base: 3–4 in (7.5–10 cm) for paths/patios.

Why are there two cost fields?

Per bag is for retail bags; per cubic yard or per ton is for bulk delivery. Enter what you have; compare totals.

Can I switch units later?

Yes—results recalc instantly when you change units or dimensions.

Does moisture affect weight?

Yes. Wet topsoil and washed gravel can weigh more. Use your supplier’s density for precise tonnage.
